DrumAccess (Drum Libraries)

Welcome to the DrumAccess libraries page

We are very happy to present our drum libraries, usable by everyone, but specially designed for the blind.

Since 2023, ReaperAccessible has been committed to creating drum libraries specifically for blind musicians using Reaper. We've integrated tools like the Behringer X-Touch Universal control surface and CSI, as well as OSARA settings, to ensure an accessible and immersive musical experience for everyone.

We're announcing the release of a series of drum libraries, which we hope will meet all your needs.

OSARA (Open Source Accessibility for the REAPER Application) is an extension for Reaper designed to make the software accessible to screen reader users. Originally inspired by the discontinued ReaAccess extension, OSARA is developed by James Teh and other contributors under the supervision of NV Access.

Features

  • Provides detailed information about tracks and track folders during navigation
  • Reports changes to mute, solo, arm, input monitoring, phase, and track volume
  • Announces items during navigation
  • Reports the position of the edit cursor in measures, time, pixels, grid units, notes, or at project edges
  • Access to context menus for tracks, items, and the time ruler
  • Supports non-contiguous track/item selection
  • Navigation and selection of chords and notes in the MIDI editor
  • Adjustment of automatable FX parameters
  • Monitors track peak levels and gain reduction for supported effects

Requirements and Installation

OSARA requires Reaper version 6.44 or later, as well as the SWS/S&M extension for additional actions. On Windows, OSARA uses Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) and UI Automation (UIA), ensuring compatibility with most screen readers.

To download and install OSARA, visit the OSARA development snapshots page. On Windows, simply run the installer after downloading. On Mac, follow the instructions provided in the "Install OSARA.command" file included in the disk image.

For more details about OSARA, including the ReaperAccessible KeyMap and keyboard commands, refer to the documentation on the ReaperAccessible download page here.
