We are very happy to present our drum libraries, usable by everyone, but specially designed for the blind.

Since 2023, ReaperAccessible has been committed to creating drum libraries specifically for blind musicians using Reaper. We've integrated tools like the Behringer X-Touch Universal control surface and CSI, as well as OSARA settings, to ensure an accessible and immersive musical experience for everyone.

Reaper

Reaper is a highly powerful and flexible audio production and recording software, recognized for its exceptional accessibility. Combined with OSARA and the NVDA screen reader, Reaper provides a smooth and efficient user experience for blind musicians.

OSARA: OSARA (Open Source Accessibility for the REAPER Application) is a plugin that greatly enhances Reaper’s accessibility. It allows users to easily navigate the interface, edit tracks, and control parameters using screen readers. You can download OSARA here.
NVDA: NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) is a free and open-source screen reader for Windows that works perfectly with Reaper and OSARA to provide spoken feedback for on-screen elements. Download NVDA here.

Logic Pro

Logic Pro is another option for blind musicians, but it is only available on Mac. Thanks to VoiceOver, macOS’s built-in screen reader, Logic Pro offers good accessibility for blind users. Musicians can navigate the interface, edit tracks, and use virtual instruments and effects.

Pro Tools

Pro Tools is a widely used audio production and recording software in the music industry. The program is partially accessible to blind users through PTAccess. PTAccess is a set of scripts that improves Pro Tools’ accessibility for screen reader users. It’s important to note that accessibility is optimized when using VoiceOver on Mac.

Ableton Live

Ableton Live is another popular music creation software that has supported assistive technologies since version Live 12. Blind users can use screen readers such as VoiceOver on macOS and NVDA, Narrator, or JAWS on Windows to navigate and operate the interface efficiently.
