The Pearl Reference is Pearl’s non-custom professional series, built using SST technology with a blend of maple, birch, and African mahogany plies for a balanced, nuanced sound. Its rack toms feature 6-ply shells, while the bass drum and floor toms use 8-ply shells, optimizing both attack and projection for a consistent response across the frequency spectrum. The Reference snare boasts a massive 20-ply shell, delivering exceptional cut and presence. Fitted with die-cast hoops and refined chrome hardware, it produces a warm, defined tone with controlled sustain—ideal for both studio and stage.
