The Sakae company was founded in 1925 in Osaka, Japan, and initially manufactured percussion instruments for schools. In 1974, it began collaborating with Yamaha to produce high-end drum kits. This partnership lasted until 2009 when Sakae decided to develop its own products under its brand, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and sound quality. The Sakae Trilogy drum kit is designed with maple and poplar shells, a classic combination reminiscent of vintage drums from the 1960s. The shells are constructed with three very thin plies (maple-poplar-maple) reinforced with multi-layered maple rings, this which gives them lightness and resonance, while delivering a warm, rich sound with a distinct retro character
This kit includes four sample libraries, one played with sticks, one with mallets, one with brushes, and one with snare wires off.
